The Office of Clinical Research (OCR) was created to further the research and health care mission of the University of Chicago Biological Sciences Division (BSD) and Medical Center by developing and supporting specific infrastructure components related to clinical research especially in the context of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded Clinical & Translational Sciance Award (CTSA) and the BSD Institute of Translational Medicine. By providing high level guidance in the conduct of clinical research and clinical trials, the Office of Clinical Research seeks to enhance the excellence, scope and efficiency of these efforts. By facilitating and integrating the clinical research and clinical trial activities already in place and by fostering activities in areas where they are not yet fully operational the Office of Clinical Research seeks to support the BSD faculty in their efforts to improve the understanding of human biology, health care and health care delivery.
